ARLINGTON, VA — September 17, 2026 — The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) today announced the election of Patrick Cozzi, founder of Cesium and Chief Platform Officer at Bentley Systems, to its Board of Directors.
Cozzi brings deep experience in open standards, 3D geospatial technology, and building developer communities. As the founder of Cesium and a longtime contributor to the geospatial community, he has played a significant role in advancing technologies and standards that enable an open and interoperable 3D geospatial ecosystem.
“Patrick has been an important voice in the geospatial community for many years, and we are delighted to welcome him to the OGC Board,” said Ed Parsons, Chair of the OGC Board of Directors. “He brings a rare combination of technical expertise, entrepreneurial experience, and deep experience developing and advancing open standards. That perspective will be a tremendous asset to the Board and to OGC as we continue to evolve.”
Cesium and Bentley Systems have a long history of engagement with OGC and its global community, including collaboration around 3D Tiles and other technologies that support the use and exchange of 3D geospatial information across applications and industries.
