OGC Code Sprint: GEOINT Imagery Media for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (GIMI) standard

This OGC Code Sprint is a collaborative and inclusive event designed to advance the development and implementation of OGC standards, with a primary focus on the GEOINT Imagery Media for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (GIMI) standard. In addition to GIMI, participants will also work on OGC APIs and selected Integrity, Provenance, and Trust (IPT) topics. The Sprint is supported by the OGC Testbed-21 initiative.

The Sprint is open to participants from across the geospatial ecosystem.

The in-person portion of the Code Sprint will be hosted by the USGS at the Fort Collins Science Center in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA (2150 Centre Avenue, Building C, Fort Collins, CO 80526). A virtual participation option will also be available via the OGC-Events Discord server: https://discord.gg/3uyaZZuXr3

OGC Code Sprints provide a practical environment to explore emerging ideas, improve interoperability across existing standards, and test new extensions or profiles in real-world contexts. Participation is not limited to coding; testing, documentation, design discussions, and issue reporting are all welcome. A mentor stream will be available to support participants who are new to OGC standards.

A pre-event webinar will be held on January 22 at 2:00 pm UTC to introduce the Sprint, outline planned activities, and help participants prepare.
