Muthu Kumar is Senior Director at the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), where he plays a key role in strengthening OGC’s strategic presence and partnerships across Europe.

With over a decade of experience at the intersection of geospatial technology, mobility, and digital innovation, Muthu brings a unique perspective that bridges strategic vision with practical implementation. His work focuses on helping organizations unlock the full potential of location intelligence—driving real-world impact across sectors such as climate resilience, sustainability, infrastructure, and security.

Before joining OGC, Muthu worked with Deutsche Bahn, where he led initiatives leveraging geospatial and digital technologies to support complex, mission-critical transport systems. Beyond his corporate experience, he is also the Co-Founder of Geoawesome, one of the world’s leading geospatial media and community platforms. Through Geoawesome, he has inspired and connected thousands of professionals passionate about advancing the geospatial field.

At OGC, Muthu will guide European outreach, stakeholder collaboration, and innovation programs—ensuring that open standards and interoperability continue to enable sustainable, scalable solutions across industries and governments.
