Building the Future of Geospatial Standards
Builder Days are intensive, hands-on working sessions where developers, implementers, and standards experts come together to prototype, test, and refine candidate standards. It’s where specifications meet implementation, with participants building and testing together to find what works, identify what doesn’t, and improve standards before they move forward.
Who Participates?
Builder Days bring together developers, software architects, implementers, and anyone who wants to help shape emerging standards through practical collaboration. They’re also an accessible way for organizations to sponsor innovation without committing to a full Testbed.
How It Works
Start with a Challenge
Participants focus on a candidate standard, API, building block, or interoperability challenge.
Build Together
Working side by side—in person and online—the community prototypes, tests, and improves emerging specifications.
Feed It Back
The results go directly to the Domain and Standards Working Groups, helping refine specifications before broader implementation through Apply.
