Wayland, MA, USA, August 14, 2006. Preetha Pulusani announced her retirement from the Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC) Board of Directors. She recently resigned as president of the Security, Government & Infrastructure (SG&I) division at Intergraph Corporation to pursue career interests outside the geospatial industry. She is now CEO and President of InterThink Solutions, Inc.

“It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve on the Board of Directors of the OGC. My fellow directors are truly an outstanding group of people and it has been a remarkable experience to see the positive impact that board, staff and members have had on the geospatial industry. I wish you and all my friends at OGC much success in future.”

Preetha Pulusani was an active participant in the OGC for more than a decade. She was Intergraph's representative to the OGC in 1995 when Intergraph became the consortium's first Principal Member, and she was elected to the OGC Board in 2001.

In addition to her strong commitment to OGC's mission, she brought both technical and marketing expertise to her consortium roles. She joined Intergraph in 1980 as a software engineer and rose to the position of Senior Technical Manager for Product Development before becoming involved in marketing management. She was promoted to her position as president in 2001.

David Schell, CEO and Chairman of the Board of the OGC, praised Pulusani's contribution, “Preetha's practical wisdom and strategic instincts have been valuable assets in our Planning Committee and Board deliberations. She understood very early the direction the consortium needed to follow, and she deserves significant credit for our successes. I will personally miss her at our meetings.”
