Travel stipends to the OGC 132nd Member Meeting available for government entities in Latam and Caribbean.

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) is offering travel stipends of up to $1,000 USD to support participation from government organizations across Latin America and the Caribbean at the OGC 132nd Member Meeting in Mérida, Mexico. 

Eligible government entities are invited to submit a short abstract describing a geospatial project or initiative that aligns with the meeting’s theme: Geospatial Innovation – From Sea to Space. Up to 10 participants will be selected to receive travel support and present their work during the meeting. 

Selected participants will have the opportunity to showcase their project in an informal presentation session. This can be done either through a printed visual poster (guidance will be provided) or by using a laptop or tablet to share slides, demonstrations, or other visuals. This is a valuable opportunity to share your work with a global audience, connect with leading experts, and increase visibility for your geospatial efforts.

Note: Participants must receive approval from their government organization to accept the stipend. Confirmation of eligibility and authorization will be required. 

Abstract Guidelines 

Length: Maximum 300 words 

Content: Your abstract should describe the problem or opportunity your project addresses; how your work reflects geospatial innovation across marine, terrestrial, or space-based applications; the impact or expected outcomes on public services, sustainability, or decision-making; and how your project supports interoperability, uses OGC Standards, and fosters cross-sector collaboration. 

Review Criteria 

Abstracts will be reviewed based on their alignment with the theme Geospatial Innovation – From Sea to Space; the originality and innovation of the approach; potential impact and scalability; clarity and organization; and demonstrated use of OGC Standards.
