OGC Strategic Opportunities  Representative - Europe

We are looking for a high-energy, driven professional with sound business acumen, strong technical aptitude, and natural instincts to join as a Strategic Opportunities  Representative, Europe. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll be developing and executing multi year strategic initiatives supporting OGC’s mission in Europe and beyond. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the European landscape around Horizon Europe, is skilled at identifying partners and developing consortia to shape and respond to public tenders. The candidate is expected to represent OGC at the highest levels at industry, alliances, and governmental agencies. 

You are comfortable creating and executing strategies and tactics effective for top leadership executives and tech savvy influencers at all levels. Based in your virtual office, you will help us improve our strategic approach to Europe - all intended to delight our members.

This is a remote position based in a location in or near Central European time.

Role and Responsibilities:
Find and close new opportunities for membership and innovation program initiatives
Identify, develop, and execute new initiatives in partnership with the OGC team to expand OGC’s footprint in priority markets in Europe
Understand European priorities and convert initiatives such as Destination Earth, Green Deal, and Digital Transformation into research and development initiatives for OGC
Work closely with our existing members and OGC staff to generate new high value project requirements and work to convert the ideas into a funded project
Qualify and nurture opportunities at every stage of the process
Develop proposals and materials that clearly differentiate how OGC brings value to organisations/markets in Europe. 
Enhance our strategic process
Develop annual budget requirements for travel and related resources necessary to ensure success
Support other OGC activities, as and when required. 

Requirements:
Deep knowledge of the Location and Geospatial industry and technology in Europe
Knowledge of European strategies and key initiatives such as Destination Earth, GaiaX, Horizon Europe, Copernicus, Green Deal and Digital Transformation
Proven track record on closing  small to large opportunities 
Must be able to listen for member pain, unspoken objections and develop insights into win strategies
Candidate must be able to craft compelling and polished proposal copy and written communications
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience required
Minimum of 10 years strategic opportunities Experience
Minimum 10 years developing, maintaining, and obtaining meetings with new and existing C-level / Government leadership relationships as well as other tech savvy decision makers
Demonstrable understanding of project and membership lifecycles, specifically for location based solutions
Outstanding verbal communication skills, candidate must be authentic, disciplined, and persuasive, as well as comfortable presenting to executive level audience
Multi-tasking and prioritization will be critical for the success in this role, our opportunities come from all sectors with fast developing and different requirement
Available for frequent local and less frequent international travel
Familiarity with basic office tools ( e.g CRM, G-Suite )

Assets:
Bilingual 
Deep knowledge and experience with location and Geospatial technologies
Extensive existing connections to organisations with location based services, technology, and future requirements
Experience with markets outside of Europe
Previous experience working with the OGC Community
