UPPER MIDWEST GEOSPATIAL CONFERENCE (UMGEOCON 2016)

May 25-26, 2016

La Crosse, Wisconsin

This is a first of its kind geospatial event, right here in the Upper Midwest. Several GIS organizations from across the region have come together to plan a GIS conference that spans borders and encourages collective learning.

The GIS profession is rapidly changing.  Emerging trends, such as free and open data, along with new technologies that require an increased web presence, have created opportunities while introducing challenges to the GIS professional. UMGEOCON 2016 is an exciting opportunity to examine these issues while broadening your GIS knowledge and community.

At UMGEOCON 2016 you can expect engaging presentations on current trends in GIS, an opportunity to expand your professional network, and to learn how other states, agencies and organizations benefit from the use of GIS.

Who should attend:

The primary intended audience is mid-level, career-minded GIS personnel who desire a unique opportunity to broaden their community/regional connections and professional knowledge.

What makes this event REALLY special:

The event is believed to be the first time in the nation that multiple state and regional associations have agreed to jointly host a conference. Importantly, this level of organizational collaboration supports advancement of the NSDI, related objectives  of DHSEPAFGDCHIFLDNGACNSFNSGICUSGS, and other national and regional geospatial programs.
